Grigori Fried: Le Journal d'Anne Frank (Opera-Monodrame)
Grigori Fried, born in 1915 in Petrograd (St. Petersburg) composed 'The Diary of Anne Frank' in 1968. It is an opera-monodrama in 21 scenes for soprano and chamber orchestra, lasting about one hour. It was given a first performance with piano accompaniment at the All-Union House of Composers in Moscow on either 17 or 18 May 1972. This is the only recording of the work, done in Moscow at the Mosfilm Studios in November 1991 by the French recording company 'Saison Russe' and issued on the label 'Le Chant du Monde'.
