Gransfors Bruks, Tomahawk - French Trade
The Gr¤nsfors Bruks French Trade Axe, or French Trade Tomahawk, was brought to North America by the French for trading with Native Americans, and was an extremely successful item. This hawk is lighter than the British Tomahawk, although the length and face are about the same size. The word tomahawk comes from the language of the Lenape, meaning 'cutting tool'. The overall weight is 1.1 pounds (0.52 kg), with a 3 inch (8 cm) face and length of 20 inches (50 cm). Only a handful of these hawks are made each year. Notice that in the view of the head, and the top-down view, the handle is actually larger in diameter than the head. The 'hawk comes with both the Ancient Axe Book, and the Axe Book, plus a 20-year guarantee, and a leather sheath.
