Gransfors Bruks, Tomahawk - British Trade
The Gr¤nsfors Bruks British Trade Axe copies an old style of Axe that was introduced to North America by the British for trade with Native Americans. Eventually it became known as a Tomahawk and not really associated with the British. It is pretty similar to the French Tomahawk in size, design and history. The word tomahawk comes from the language of the Lenape, meaning 'cutting tool'. This hawk is 20 inches (50 cm) long, with a 3.5 inch (9 cm) blade and total weight of 1.5 pounds (0.7 kg). Only a handful of these hawks are made each year. Gr¤nsfors makes limited quantities of their 'hawks, and they are often tough to get! We waited a year to get the ones we have. This hawk is shipped with the Axe Book as well as the Ancient Axe Book, plus a sheath, and carries a 20 year guarantee.
