Goodbye, Mr. Chips (originally, Good-bye, Mr. Chips) is a short novel about the life of a schoolteacher, Mr. Chipping, written by the English writer James Hilton, published in the United States in June 1934 by Little, Brown and Company and in the United Kingdom in October of that same year by Hodder & Stoughton.
