Going In Style Adapter Plug America to Japan Non Grounded A Polarized
This Japan adapter is the same adapter used in the United States. The reason you may need an adapter in Japan is because Japan's outlets are not required to be polarized. In the US outlets are required to be polarize for safety reasons. If you are staying in a large hotel in a tourist area, the outlets will probably be polarized for travelers convenience. However, if you are staying in a less touristy area, such as the country side you will want to take along an adapter. Adaptor plug changes your appliance plug to fit Japanese outlets. NOTE: All Going In Style adapters allow US plugs (two polarized flat pins) to adapt to fit other country outlets. Your North America appliance plug will fit into all Going In Style adapters. Sometimes the fit is tight so that the plug does not fall out of the adapter. Just push the plug in firmly and after a couple of uses the adapter should loosen up.
