Giro Women's Facet Tri Cycling Shoe
The features you want in your triathlon shoes are the same as what you want in a road shoe; stiff soles, lightweight construction, and footbeds that keep your feet comfortable on long rides. But your triathlon shoes require a few additions that differ from traditional road shoes, namely a wider entrance for your foot, a simpler, two-strap closure, and extra ventilation to keep your feet dry. The Giro Women's Facet Triathlon shoes have all the features we look for in cycling shoes, with essential triathlon-specific details to make them comfortable and quick in transitions. We want stiff outsoles for power transfer, but we also want them to be lightweight. With light and stiff as a design concept, Giro worked with Easton to create the EC70 carbon composite outsole. Utilizing a carbon outsole means you have a lightweight, stiff, and responsive sole with a minimal stack height of 6.5mm. The outsole is also built with a neutral canting so your feet will sit in a more natural position on the pedals, instead of leaning in or out. The Facet shoes come with the Giro Super Natural Fit system. These insoles are designed with three interchangeable arch support options to match the contours of your feet, so your shoes have a better overall fit. An Aegis Anti-Microbial treatment is applied to the top layer of the insoles to mitigate odor buildup. The uppers of the Facet shoes use a mixture of microfiber and mesh so they can conform naturally to your foot and help your feet dry quickly as you exit T1. A key factor in keeping your feet comfortable is microfiber surrounding the wide throat opening of the shoe. When you put your foot inside, youAAAll notice the area around the ankle is lined with soft microfiber to prevent irritation when you ride without socks.Mesh panels throughout the top and sides of the foot provide additional ventilation so your feet stay comfortable during your 112 mile, iron-distance ride.
