Girl's 3-Piece Kapa Haka Maori Costume
Girl's or young lady's 3-piece Maori dance costume (Kapahaka Kotiro) features an authentic red, black and white design that includes New Zealand's national bird the Kiwi, surrounded by the Niho-Taniwha pattern (dragon's teeth) and the three Baskets of Knowledge. The simulated flax piupiu skirt (made from 100% cotton) is made to imitate the genuine Maori skirt. It has an elastic waist with a velcro closure to fit various sizes and the length can easily be cut to a shorter length if desired. The black polyester dress has a lined printed bodice in the front, attached underskirt, elastic shoulder straps, and two wide velcro closures in the back. The 1" wide printed cotton headband (tipare) has an elastic strip in the back to fit all sizes. This costume is comfortable, easy to wear, and the velcro closures allow it to be adjusted to fit sizes a bit smaller or larger around than the measurements given. (Sizes below are the approximate measurements of the costume and may vary slightly)
