Fun Fly Stick

The smallest Van de Graaff generator in the world! The Fun-Fly-Stick wand emits static charge which allows users to levitate the tinsel flying toys included with the wand just by pressing a button. Once aloft, levitating toy shapes can be directed by the user in any direction giving kids a tangible lesson in the power of static electricity and the repulsion of the like charges. 19" long when assembled, the Fun-Fly-Stick is a portable, handheld, battery operated Van de Graaff generator. The standard metal sphere of the Van de Graaff generator is replaced with a cardboard cylindrical tube, making it safe to touch. The wand creates positive static charge at about 20-30 kV. Nearly any experiment that is done with the large Van de Graaff generator can be done with the Fun-Fly-Stick. Additionally, the Fun-Fly-Stick is equipped with 10 Mylar shapes that turn it into a fun toy that levitates 3-dimensional objects. The special precut shapes (flying toys or flyers) are able to receive the static charge off the wand on contact. The charge gets distributed along the entire surface of the flyer and due to the repulsion of the like charges the flyer expands within itself.
