Folkwear #123 Austrian Dirndl German Regional Sewing Costume Pattern

The #123 Austrian Dirndl pattern by Folkwear dates back to the Renaissance and is one of the few regional costumes still worn extensively in Austria, southern Germany and Switzerland. Pattern Details: Folkwear Pattern #123 Austrian Dirndl (Not finished garment) Misses sizes 8 - 16 (Bust 31 1/2" - 38", Waist 24" - 30") All Sizes in one Envelope Pattern for 2 dresses, 2 blouses and apron Instructions for decorative embellishment and custom fitting Austrian Dirndl Details: The complete Dirndl consists of a close-fitting sleeveless bodice with attached full skirt, over an abbreviated white blouse, finished with a contrasting apron. Easy-to-make decorative ruching may be used to enhance the lines of the bodice. This Folkwear pattern offers two dirndl styles. In View A, the dress is cut just above the bustline and buttons in front to the waist. Its blouse is lightly gathered into a jewel neckline with a self-tie. The bodice in View B is cut wider and deeper - below the fullest part of the bust and fitted with bones and small gussets. The front opening fastens with hooks and eyes. Its blouse gathers in front into a square neckline. Both blouses have gathered sleeves with an encased elastic band forming a ruffle at the elbow. Both Views and the Apron can be street length or low-calf length.
