Angel Hair - Sourced directly from The Almighty, these miraculous fibers represent the first synthetic material to truly rival badger hair for comfort and performance. Both cruelty-free, and lower cost than badger, there's little doubt that this shaving brush is truly a gift from on high. Best Badger - Best Badger knots are distinguished by the fact that they are not clipped on the ends to shape the bulb of the brush. Instead, the thickness of each hair diminishes naturally, becoming soft and fine at the end. Best Badger Knots do however remain the most course of the un-clipped variety of knots available. It is important to note that course hair in a shaving brush does has its advantages, especially when it comes to loading the brush with harder soaps and exfoliating the skin. Super Badger - Super badger hair is a finer gauge of hair and has a softer feel than best grade hair. Super badger is not as readily available as best, and it is harvested from the back of the animal. The hair has a distinctive color pattern with a black banded midsection in the hair and whiter tips than the lower quality hair types. Because the brushes are filled with finer hair, more individual hairs are required to fill the brush's knot making them very dense yet soft and luxurious in feel. Silvertip Badger - Found only in the neck area of the badger, Silvertip is the rarest and highest grade of hair. Like super badger hair, Silvertip has a very distinct color banding, yet it has the softest and most luxurious natural tips and usually the most defined contrast in color between the black and white color bands. Silvertip Badger can also boast being the only grade of Badger Brush that is never color treated.
