For centuries and across borders, the sex lives of royals have been played out like pure theatre. The royals were the celebrities of the day, and they got as much sex as they wanted, when they wanted, normally with who they wanted. And some royals wanted an awful lot.

Continuing her series at looking at historic sex scandals, T.S Wiseman takes her quest outside the Tudor period and England to look at some of the sex lives of some of the most influential monarchs in history. Some of the stories are so strange that if they were fiction, then you would scoff at the fantasy.
