Fender Custom Shop 60th Anniversary Series Esquire 1-Pickup Electric Guitar Black

After the "Snake Head" prototype of 1949, the next instrument Fender introduced to the public was the Esquire. As the model evolved, it was given an ash body and blonde finish, specifications more common to original '50s Teles, but for a very short period in 1950 the guitars were produced with a pinewood body and black finish.

This Custom Shop reproduction is lightweight and resonant. The bridge pickup produces that classic Tele tone with more emphasis on the high end, while the neck position gives that twangy "halfway-wah" tone. The relicing job is excellent - nice and light all around with a few scrapes and dings, no major gashes or large finish removal.

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Telecaster, these guitars are limited to 60 total for worldwide sale. This instrument is number 65 (according to the Custom Shop, serial numbers are non-sequential, chosen at random).

Fender, Esquire, Telecaster, and the distinctive headstock and body designs commonly found on the Tele are trademarks of Fender Musical Instruments Corporation.
