Fanny Hill - The Original Classic Edition
Fanny Hill was written by John Cleland. The book has been written as a series of letters from Fanny Hill to an unknown woman, the letters contain the justification of Fanny's life-choices. Frances "Fanny" Hill is a 15 year old girl with a rudimentary education living in a small village near Liverpool. Shortly after she turned 15, both her parents died and she decided to leave town with another girl to set off for London, but Fanny was abandoned when they arrived. Wondering around the strange city of London Fanny meets Mrs Brown, a short, obese, rich woman who gives Fanny lodging but to her surprise Mrs Brown runs a brothel and Fanny is forced to work for her.
Only after days after arriving in London Fanny meets a 19-year-old wealthy nobleman, Charles and they fall in love instantly. He helps her escape from the brothel. The lovers move to an inn outside London and shortly after Fanny falls pregnant to Charles. Three months later Charles mysteriously disappears, which turns into a kid napping from his father who sends Charles away to the South Seas. Upset by the news that Charles will be gone for over three years Fanny miscarries and falls ill. Nursed back to health by Charles' then housekeeper Mrs Jones, to Fanny's surprise she is forced to work as a prostitute again.
Leading a life of infidelity and life of a prostitute, Fanny encounters many strange and disturbing things by the men that she sleeps with and of those she works with. But after a life of boundaries and tribulations she deserves to be happy, as she is reunited with an old love and lives happily ever after.
