This rope has around 40 threads per ply, compared with well under 10 in most ropes. This makes it beautifully smooth and it softens nicely with very little use. The rope is in a different league from traditional hemp and is far stronger than cotton. Linen hemp is likely to be suitable for those with a hemp allergy as it is used in clothing and bedding. Due to its flexibility and softness, this rope can be used as is without the laborious treatment often associated with natural fibres. Of course, a little of a suitable oil never does any harm.
