Encre
Yann a.k.a. Encre is a great paradox. He is the only one in France to have succeeded in expressing rage and rushes of blood through moving arpeggios and luxuriant arrangements and in impregnating American folk€s wooden resonance with Autechre€s industrial overtones. In France no one can really categorize him. Yann€s music encompasses L©o Ferr© and Jacques Brel€s songwriting as well as Smog€s Folk, Hood€s spleen and the most organic avant-electronica€s sonic particularities. However, Yann simply writes sad and cheerful, paradoxical and complex songs which he arranges and composes, drifting through rugged landscapes and maladjusted collages, blending delicate organic instrument fragments, complex virtual string parts and untimely computer waste on the same level.
