This is a rare September 1962 "Playgoer" playbill from the e-Broadway engagement of the new DORE SCHARY play "BANDEROL" at the Forrest Theatre in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. (The production opened September 17th, 1962 in Philadelphia and closed there September 22nd, 1962 after only one week, canceling the scheduled Broadway opening.) ..... The play starred ED BEGLEY, BETTY FIELD, ANN HARDING and GEORGE VOSKOVEC and included STAATS COTSWORTH, ALAN BUNCE, WALTER GREAZA, JOHN GRIGGS, CARL LOW, WILLIAM BOGERT, RICHARD McMURRAY, ROBERT BAINES and MICHAEL TOLAN ..... CREDITS: Book by DORE SCHARY; Sets designed by PAUL MORRISON; Directed by DORE SCHARY; Produced by ROBERT WHITEHEAD and ROGER L. STEVENS ..... Includes a full page ad for the Pre-Broadway tryout of the JAMES LIPTON and SOL BERKOWITZ musical flop "NOWHERE TO GO BUT UP" starring TOM BOSLEY and MARTIN BALSAM and featuring DOROTHY LOUDON, PHIL LEEDS and BRUCE GORDON. The musical would begin tryouts October 6th, 1962 at Philadelphia's Shubert Theatre and survive for only nine performances in New York ..... CONDITION: This playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian.
