Drive Thru History: Patriots, Penn, The Freedom Trail: Philadelphia
In this set of three Drive Thru History episodes, host Dave Stotts goes from England to Boston and then to Philadelphia. The series begins in England with the life of George Whitefield, one of the greatest Christian evangelists of all time and one of the men credited with fanning the revival in the United States known as “The Great Awakening.†Then it’s on to the Boston “Freedom Trail,†the “Old North Church†where the signal was given for Paul Revere’s famous ride, and the warship USS Constitution, (commissioned by George Washington). In episode three, Dave visits some of the most important historical sites in America such as Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, Valley Forge, the homes of Betsy Ross and Polish Patriot Thaddeus Kosciuszko. Special emphasis is given to understanding the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution.
