Doctor M.W. Lewis: Life Story
Dr. Minott W. Lewis (1892 1960) was an early disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda, the renowned author of the spiritual classic Autobiography of a Yogi. Dr. Lewis and his wife met Yogananda in 1920 as he arrived from India to attend an international congress of religious leaders convening in Boston. They were among the first to recognize that the young swami was no ordinary teacher. This biography shares many stories of the lifelong guru-disciple relationship between Paramahansa Yogananda and the Lewises, and of the early stirrings of what would become Self-Realization Fellowship, the world-wide movement founded by Yogananda. For this new edition, an essay by Dr. Lewis and three lectures given by him at Self-Realization Fellowship temples have been added, providing additional anecdotes about his long and inspiring association with his guru. Also included are a number of rare photos of Yogananda's early years in America.
