Dem-Bart B-1 Checkering Tool Boardering Cutter & Ramelson 90 degree Bent V. Made in USA The B-1 is not a pitched tool in terms of the checkering pattern. The B-1 makes a cut that leaves a convex bead about 0.090 in width. There are some interesting uses for the B-1 but its primary function is to cut a border around the pattern with a 0.90" semi-circular bead. The primary advantage of a border cut is to erase over runs at the margin of the pattern - little scratches beyond the perimeter made by going too far with the cut. Most checkering done today is "borderless", there is a margin cut but it is just a "V" cut at the perimeter of the pattern.
