The Dake Super Cut 315 model manual cold saw uses up to 12" circular cold saw blades, has a dual-speed 2.5 hp motor, and mounts on an included pedestal that houses a built-in coolant tank and pump. The blade rotates at either 22 or 44 rpm, selected by a switch. The saw head pivots up and down to cut, and rotates 45 degrees to the right and left of center for miter cuts. The work bed includes a cam-operated vise with gib adjustment and a cushioned clamping arm that helps prevent burrs in the final cutting stroke. The saw drive has an oversized steel spindle and a tapered bronze roller bearing gear assembly for heavy-duty use. The hardened and ground spindle shaft has ball bearing support for reliability. The saw is wired for three-phase, 220 volt AC operation, and has protection for low voltage and thermal overload.

Cold saws are machines used to cut metal with reduced temperature distortion. As the circular blade cuts, the heat generated by cutting is transferred to the chips, leaving the work material and blade relatively cool. Cold saws have a high chip load per tooth and cut at slow speeds to leave fewer burrs than abrasive saws. Liquid coolant lubricates the material and blade during cutting. Saws that operate with a higher hp motor and higher rotations-per-minute (rpm) can cut thicker material than saws with lower rpm.
Dake manufactures industrial strength machines including arbor presses, hydraulic presses, drill presses, power hammers, band saws, belt grinders, tube benders, and auto feed systems. The company, founded in 1887, is headquartered in Grand Haven, MI.
