Curriculum Guide for Autism Using Rapid Prompting Method: With Lesson Plan Suggestions
What this book is about? A Curriculum Guide to Autism using Rapid Prompting Method is a syllabus guide for anyone who is interested in teaching individuals affected by Autism. The syllabus is prepared through careful consultation of different curriculums used in schools. The entire syllabus is divided into 7 levels instead of 10, so that students who are older and are introduced to education later in their lives, may not feel inferior by seeing themselves doing the second or third grade curriculum. The book includes 10 Teaching-Plans in English, 10 in Social Sciences and 10 in Science. It also includes twenty examples of Sensory Activities in Mathematics teaching. Although these plans and Sensory Activities include principles of Rapid Prompting Method, a teacher is free to implement any better method that is available. The book also includes a chapter guide for teachers to assess students based on the student's Learning Channels, Interest and Stimulations, Skill level, Tolerance Level, Sensory Defensiveness, Previous Exposure to Knowledge, Ability to Assimilate new stimulations and Ability to Accommodate new learning. How to Test and Evaluate a student's learning is a question that is frequently asked by teachers. A chapter is dedicated towards answering this question. I am a proud student of my Mother who has written this book for everyone with unselfish care. She wrote this book keeping herself up late at night after she worked all day, after she worked with me drinking as much tea as her 4 feet 10 inch self can hold. I hope the reader appreciates everything she believes in, which is Education. - Tito Rajarshi Mukhopadhyay
