Crystal and the Shield Maidens

Crystal is a sheltered twelve-year old girl from Florida, who is pushed out of her comfort zone when her parents send her to summer camp in Sweden. At first she is overwhelmed by the strangeness of being in a foreign country, separated from her parents. But then she notices that the games the girls play at camp seem like military training, and the counselors appear to be hiding a terrible secret. The longer she is at camp, the more she realizes that this is no ordinary summer camp and the staff are not ordinary humans.
