Continental Sureline Black EPDM Washdown Hose, 1/2" ID x 500' Length Reel, 150 PSI Max Working Pressure

This branded water discharge hose is manufactured for a wide range of industrial, construction, and agricultural applications for which a general-service water hose is needed. Its tube is made of RMA Class C EPDM (EPDM, ethylene propylene diene monomer) synthetic rubber for mild chemical and limited oil resistance, and is rated to undergo a maximum volume change of +100% while retaining a minimum of 40% of its tensile strength after exposure to oil. Its EPDM (EPDM) synthetic rubber cover is resistant to aging, ozone, chemicals and heat. This hose is reinforced with spiral synthetic yarn for strength, and is capable of functioning effectively at temperatures ranging from -40 to +190 degrees F (-40 to +88 degrees C). With an inner diameter (ID) of 1/2", this hose has a maximum pressure rating of 150 psi, and is receptive to a variety of coupling options, including swivel, cam and groove, and others.

The inside diameter of the hose must be adequate to keep pressure loss to a minimum and avoid damage to the hose due to heat generation or excessive turbulence. The hose must be capable of withstanding the minimum and maximum temperatures that occur within the hose system. Some applications require specialized oils or chemicals to be conveyed through the system. In this case, hose selection must ensure compatibility of the hose tube, cover, couplings and O-rings with the fluid used.
