When Jesus told His disciples to “do this in remembrance of me,†they were sharing a meal together. Today we’ve made communion more impersonal, something that we do facing forward in a church service.

That’s not the way Jesus did it. He gathered the disciples for a meal, and they practiced communion in relationship.
