Our Refined Shea Butter is filtered through white earth to discolor (not bleach) the raw Shea Butter. As a result, we push down the acidity below 1 pct. All of this is a totally natural process which means NO CHEMICALS are ever used and there is NO TESTING ON ANIMALS. The refined Shea butter has no smell, is whiter and smoother and although it has loses some of its active ingredients in the process, it is still excellent when used for healing or treatment purposes.
