Classical Guitar Mold Kit - 650mm Scale Length

The mold set is used in the construction of the guitar demonstrated in both the book by John S. Boganovich "Classical Guitar Making: A Modern Approach to a Traditional Design" and the 10-DVD box set "Making a Concert Classical Guitar with John S. Bogdanovich". The molds are made from MDF and have been cut on a CNC machine for ultimate accuracy. These molds come with instructions and should be shellaced before use to reduce moisture exchange with the environment and to improve stability. The inner edge of the outer piece of the lining mold has neoprene gasket material glued to it in order to provide a cushion during gluing and offset the linings by the thickness of the sides. The upper and lower bouts of the lining mold have also been splayed out slightly to compensate for a tendency to curl inward. Material for both the side mold caul (4 pcs. of pre-bent masonite thinned to .090" and 16 pcs of 3/4" x 3/4" x 3 3/4" mdf) and the caul necessary to install the linings (3 pcs of 1/6" thick veneer and a hardwood maple block) are now included. These molds will work for the guitar design in both the book and the DVD. The kit comes with instructions.
