Circular Wireless SPW58 Skew Planar Wheel 5.8 GHz FPV Antenna
This circularly polarized omnidirectional antenna ideal for use on your FPV video transmitter. Combined with another Skew Planar Wheel on your receiver, it offers coverage in all directions, with moderate range (around 2 km). Combined with a helical on your receiver provides around 6 km range. Antenna is Right Hand Circular Polarized (RHCP), and is supplied with an SMA straight male connector, and a 90-degree angled SMA male-female adapter. If your video Tx or Rx uses an RP-SMA connector, then an SMA female - RP-SMA female adapter would be needed (not included). Antenna is made of MIG wire coated with three layers of metal-free paint, and the weld is reinforced with epoxy. The mast is flexible, to protect the video SMA connector on your video Tx in the event of a crash. See SPW58 Reflection Paramter chart for bandwidth. This antenna is designed to be centered at 5800MHz, and attempts to cover the channels from 5645 to 5945 MHz. A Return Loss < -13dB is warranted across this frequency range, which means than >95% of the power is coupled to the antenna. See Directivity chart for radiation pattern. This antenna features a typical omindirectional radiation patter, uniform at 360 degrees in the horizontal plane, and with a radiation null at the axis in the vertical plane. Nominal gain is 2.45dB. Opposite polarization rejection (see copolar vs. crosspolar chart): This is especially important in circular polarization. Put simply: the difference between the copolar component (right hand circular in this case) and crosspolar component (left hand circular) is the attenuation of the captured reflected signal that we want to avoid to reduce multipath. In these antennas cross polar attenuation is greater than 10dB in all cases, which means that the reflected signal will reach the emitter attenuated at least 10dB with respect to the desired signal, which is great to prevent reflected signals from interfering with the direct signal during FPV.
