Growing up on the streets of Chicago, Athena Wilson had it rough. With an absentee mother and no knowledge of who her father was, she saw things that no child should see at a young age. Kenard, her boyfriend and first love, taught her everything she needed to know to survive on the streets. However, once she crossed paths with Walter, her life took an unforeseen turn which caused her to leave the streets where she saw everything and knew even more.

With age, Athena gains wisdom, and her new life exposes her to powerful allies in high places. Her mother's sudden death brought her back to a place where she was known by all and crossed by none. An unknown tragedy from the past poses a threat to Athena and her family. She is forced to revert to her former self in order to keep her loved ones safe.
