Led by Juan Formell, Los Van Van has become one of the most successful Son groups in the world. . From the beginning of their recording career, los Van Van (the Go Go's) have made it their business to fuse styles and cross lines. They added a strong jazz emphasis to the Afro-Spanish sound of traditional Cuban music. It is this fusion that has led to their popularity outside of Cuba and to a series of foreign record deals. Their last album won a Grammy Award.
