Chant Dhrupad A Vezelay
This CD was recorded during a concert given at Vezelay Basilica in July 2005, in which Sayeeduddin Dagar interpreted four ragas. The first three were performed in a classical configuration, with the singer facing the audience. Before the finale, Dagar turned towards the altar and choir to sing the final raga in the original, sacred configuration of dhrupad, with his back to the audience yet united with them in a moment of moving, intense musical communion.
