TECH NOTE: Ceres diamond testers use a patented thermal conductivity test to separate diamonds from other simulants. Unfortunately moissanite has the same thermal conductivity characteristics as diamond, and will give a false positive on the Ceres diamond testers. Moissanites are doubly refractive and are easily identified by the informed gemologist with a 10x loupe. Separate electronic testers are available for testing moissanite and dual all-in-one testers are also available.
