Carol Day - Emergency!
Emergency is the sixteenth Carol Day story, beginning on Dec. 26, 1960 and concluding on April 25, 1961. It comprises strips #1333-1433.
Emergency is a sequel to the ninth story, Face Value. Unfortunately we still lack adequate source material to reprint Face Value, so this story has to be read independently.
Emergency! is one of the most finely constructed and drawn Carol Day stories, bringing together the two couples of and Carol Day and Michael Fletcher and Charles and Angela Logan in a complex interplay symbolized by Michael Fletcher€s medical emergency.
Angela Logan is an aspiring model who Carol befriended a couple of years earlier in Face Value (strips #699-777). In Face Value, while Carol vacillates over whether to marry Charles Logan, her longtime suitor, Angela steals him away and they become engaged just as Carol is on the verge of accepting Charles€ proposal. Now, in Emergency! the marriage of Charles and Angela is failing, Charles still has strong feelings for Carol, Carol and Michael Fletcher€s relationship is on shifting ground, and Angela is up to her old tricks, competing with Carol for Michael Fletcher€s affections.

The book is designed and optimized for the Kindle App on iPad. It is best viewed on the iPad or on a Mac or Windows PC via Amazon€s Cloud reader, but it is certainly enjoyable on the Kindle.
