Two of the greatest cantorial voices of all time, cantors Gerson Sirota (1874-1943) and Sawel Kwartin (1874-1952) are among the most important figures of Jewish music. Sirota was among the first cantors to ever make recordings and unfortunately perished with his family in a Warsaw ghetto in 1943. While most cantors have tenor voices, Sawel Kwartin was endowed with a glorious high baritone. The historic album presented here, lovingly remastered from vintage 78 RPM records of the 1920's and 1930's, is one of the finest representations of cantorial music in existence and is finally available in the digital domain. All selections newly remastered.
