Cantorial Gems 1
Three of the greatest cantorial voices of all time, cantors Mordechai Herschman (1888-1940), Josef Rosenblatt (1882-1933) and Gerson Sirota (1874-1943) are among the top ten Jewish cantors of their generation. Sirota was among the first cantors to ever make recordings and unfortunately perished with his family in a Warsaw ghetto in 1943. Josef Rosenblatt was dubbed the "Caruso of the pulpit" and was one of the most dominating figures of cantorial music. Herschman was a renowned master cantor and was among those who sang prayers at Rosenblatt's funeral in 1943. The historic album presented here is one of the finest representations of cantorial music in existence and is finally available in the digital domain. All selections newly remastered.
