Calumet CF0561 16" Beauty Dish

The Calumet 16" Beauty Dish is an affordable solution for creating a soft unique wrap-around light with donut-shaped catch light in your subject's eyes. This beauty dish can be fitted for most strobes when used with a compatible speedring insert (sold separately). The reflector can also be used with the Calumet SpeedBox Flash Adapter for use with camera flashes. This lightweight aluminum parabolic reflector produces an efficient, focused light, while providing soft shadow definition. This wrap-around light quality creates a beautiful blend of smooth, broad highlights with open shadows. Ideally suited for portraiture and fashion photography, it can also be used for small products and other commercial applications in which the structure of the subject should be emphasized. Its unique design features a large, round, pebbled silver interior with an adjustable deflector shield for eliminating specular light from the flash tube. The result is a soft, pleasing light without hard edges that is ideal for producing buttery flesh tones, elegant round catch lights and more crispness than a soft box. For additional light control, the Calumet Beauty Dish features an adjustable deflector that can also be removed for more direct light. It also comes with a front diffuser bonnet that can be mounted for added softness. An optional honeycomb grid attachment provides a more focused light with more falloff control. The Beauty Dish utilizes a universal speed ring that accepts all Calumet flash head adapter rings. Dedicated rings are available for most popular flash systems, including Calumet and Bowens flash heads, Calumet Travelites, Calumet Genesis, Speedotron, Comet, Dynalite, Profoto, Elinchrom and Broncolor. There is also a Calumet/Bowens S-type speedlight adapter for mounting portable flash units to the Beauty Dish. Please note that this item requires an Adapter Ring which is sold separately.
