Californication (Season 4) [Explicit]
SEASON 4 MUSIC FROM THE SHOWTIME SERIES CALIFORNICATION is a joint venture between Scion Music Group and Arrival Records with distribution by Fontana Distribution. This project is supported by Showtime. The album includes 13 tracks specifically chosen for the project that embody the character and feel of the show. One story line that runs throughout Season 4 revolves around the band Queens of Dogtown, (QOD) formed by character Becca Moody. During Season 4, Becca recruits Zo«, played by Zo« Kravitz (daughter of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet), to front QOD. The band first appears in episode 4 where they perform the Misfits classic Last Caress. Later in episode 5, QOD performs Would? (originally by Alice in Chains) at the famed LA bar Whisky a Go Go (footage of which will be edited into a promotional music video for the soundtrack). The soundtrack features four exclusive tracks 3 by Queens of Dogtown and 1 from Tommy Lee (M¶tley Cre) and a potential bonus track of Plush (originally recorded by Stone Temple Pilots) performed by QOD.
The show has created a cult following as indicative of its 1.3 million fans on Facebook. Last season s premier viewership was up 57% from the previous season s premier. The series follows the exploits of writer Hank Moody (David Duchovny in his Golden Globe Award-winning and SAG Award-nominated role) as he works to balance his career, ex-girlfriend, daughter and hedonistic vices. This year, the economy and lack of book sales force Hank into teaching at a Los Angeles university. Will he be able to keep it together while guiding the next generation of scribes? Californication was created by Tom Kapinos with executive production by Kapinos, Duchovny and Gina Fattore and music supervision by Nora Felder and Budd Carr. The show has won an Emmy Award (nominated for two others) and one Golden Globe Award (nominated for three others). Season 4 will premier on January 10th, 2011.
