British Post World War II Military Campaigns - An African Affair: The Tanzania-Uganda War
The African Affair
This book is the fourth in a series of four, describing the exploits of Mark “Mac†Hudson, who held senior rank in British Special Operations Groups. Mac experienced an amazing, but often bizarre military career which spanned several decades and was held in a number of hot spots of operations around the world; from Cyprus in 1955 to the Falklands War in 1982.
This volume describes the Tanzania Uganda War, which was fought from 1978 – 1979, and finally put a stop to the evil doings of despot Idi Amin's regime.
This book describes how Mac taught the Tanzania’s People’s Defence Forces to use weapons and employ special ops tactics to defeat the Ugandan Army, and also the incredibly wicked actions of madman Big Dada Amin against his own countrymen.
Although Mac and his men played an enormously important part in helping the Tanzanians win the Tanzania Uganda War, which eventually forced Amin into exile, shortly after the end of the war the newly elected Tanzanian politicians turned on the foreign military personnel who had fought for and gained their countries' victory. For their efforts, the men were left with the choice to escape or die.
Note: Although part of a series, "The African Affair" does not require that you are familiar with the other volumes in the series; it can be enjoyed as a standalone book.
