Brennan 2404-04-04-SS, Stainless Steel JIC Tube Fitting, 04MJ-04MP Adapter, 1/4" Tube OD x 1/4"-18 NPTF Male
This Brennan 2404-SS series adapter tube fitting is made of stainless steel 316, has a male JIC tube connection and a male NPTF connection, and is suitable for use in high-pressure fuel delivery and fluid power applications. It is made of stainless steel 316 for higher strength and greater corrosion resistance than stainless steel 304 and has a maximum pressure rating of 6,000 pounds per square inch (psi) at an operating temperature range of -425 to +1,200 degrees F. This fitting has a male Joint Industry Council (JIC) tube connection on one end for connecting to a female flared tube, and a male National Pipe Taper Fuel (NPTF) connection on the other end for connecting to a female NPTF threaded tube. The NPTF threads create a tighter seal than straight threads. This JIC fitting is a type of flare fitting machined with a 37-degree flare seating surface, as defined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) J514 standards. This adapter tube fitting is suitable for use in instrumentation, process, pneumatic, hydraulic, gas, and other tubing system applications.
Tube fittings are components used for connecting, branching, terminating, and changing the direction of tubing in pneumatic and hydraulic systems. They are made of brass, stainless steel, PBT (polybutylene terephthalate), and other materials that resist corrosion and wear. Tube fittings have various types of connections, including threaded, welded, barbed, and push-to-connect (also called one-touch). Push-to-connect connections do not require tools or sealants. Tube fittings are used in various applications, including machine tools, airplane and truck controls, and automated production lines, among others.
Brennan Industries manufactures critical flow components. The company, founded in 1953 and headquartered in Solon, OH, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standard 9001:2008 and its fittings meet Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) specifications.
