Bounty Hunter QD2 Quick Draw II Metal Detector
Equipped with a powerful microchip computer circuit and patented Bounty Hunter technology, the Quick Draw II metal detector identifies specific targets at depth with tremendous accuracy, making it an ideal choice for coin shooting, treasure hunting, and locating lost property markers or household items.
The Quick Draw II--which runs on two 9-volt batteries--is designed for easy handling, with a lightweight, ergonomic build that's comfortable for hours on end. The detector boasts four modes controlled by an easy-to-use touchpad. Motion All-Metal mode offers a single tone that detects all types of metal. Progressive Discrimination mode, by contrast, uses a single tone to automatically eliminate iron and other unwanted metals. The Notch and Auto Notch mode add further versatility to the detecting process, with the ability to manually or automatically eliminate, or “notch out,†a select range of items.
Bounty Hunter equips all its metal detectors with a preset ground balance that neutralizes the response to mineral content in the ground. As a result, the Quick Draw II can distinguish between iron in the ground and valuable metals. The detector further distinguishes good finds from bad with a disc/notch control, which eliminates unwanted metals from detection, and a sensitivity control that reduces electromagnetic interference. It’s in the accuracy department that the Quick Draw II really shines, however. The detector includes a digital nine-segment probable target ID that identifies a wide range of targets, along with three-tone audio feedback. The unit also offers a digital probable coin depth indicator that determines how deep a target is buried, making it easier to dig up.
In addition, the Quick Draw II searches deeper than many other detectors thanks to the 8-inch open coil design, which searches to 8 inches for coin-size objects and 3 feet for larger objects. The coil and stem are even waterproof, so you can submerge them when searching for treasure in damp grass or shallow water.
To ensure privacy, the detector comes equipped with a ¼-inch headphone jack compatible with most headphones. Other features include an easy-to-read LCD display, a low battery indicator, an adjustable-height design, a padded armrest, and a detector stand. The Quick Draw II weighs 3.5 pounds and carries a five-year limited warranty.
