Boekel Orbitron II 260250-2 Platform Rotator, 1kg/2.25lb. Capacity, 230V

The Boekel Orbitron II 260250-2 Platform Rotator is a benchtop analog shaker that uses 230V to rotate at speeds between 6 to 25 orbits per minute, and has an adjustable tilt angle, a thin power cord, a rugged 30.5 x 30.5cm/12 x 12" (W x D) steel platform, and two non-skid mats. (W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.). This shaker provides gentle to vigorous agitation and uniform mixing of samples. Speed is adjustable with a rotary control knob for ease of operation. The tilt angle is manually adjustable between 0 to 23 degrees by applying pressure. The unit has a thin power cord that passes through incubator door gaskets. The rugged steel tray platform is corrosion-resistant and has notches for bungee cords to tie down vessels. A vinyl, dimpled mat holds test tubes and can be removed for cleaning and test tube transport. A flat mat can hold various types of vessels. The approximate capped test tube capacity of the platform is 42 13 x 125mm, 54 13 x 100mm, 64 13 x 75mm, or 84 13 x 50mm tubes. This model conforms to Underwriters Laboratory (UL), Canadian Standards Association (CSA), and European Conformity (CE) marking standards. Applications for this shaker include hybridization, electrophoresis, hematology, radioimmunoassay, biochemical preparation, and resin suspension.

Laboratory shakers agitate liquids during laboratory procedures. These devices can be analog or digital and are typically an automated, electrically powered, countertop unit that shakes liquid in lab containers, such as flasks, funnels, or test tubes. Some shakers can operate inside fume hoods, incubators, refrigerators, or other laboratory devices, and can include controls for the frequency and/or degree of movement. The types of shakers include: orbital, rocking, rolling, rotating, and wrist action. The most common orbital shaker provides a smooth, continuous, circular motion, sometimes with a tilt angle, for uniform mixing of contents. The rocking shaker creates gentle uniform mixing with a see-saw, or up and down, motion. Reciprocating, or rolling, shakers provide a horizontal side-to-side motion with simple agitation of samples. A rotating, or rotisserie, shaker provides samples with a rotating action that moves in a circular motion. Wrist-action shakers duplicate the effect of hand mixing with "arms" on each side of the unit. Some shakers have the ability to incubate or refrigerate samples while providing shaking action.
