Bill Buchman Zen Sumi Brush 1G - Sumi Ink & Watercolour Paint Brush - Japan
This is one of the newest additions to the top class Bill Buchman Sumi "Zen" brush series from Japan consisting of fine brushes of exceptional quality hand-made by master craftsmen. The "Zen" brushes are generally large (except the finer Classic and Sensei series) and all are of a particularly excellent quality not available in the US until now. This goat hair brush, because of the softness of the hair, is especially suitable as a "wash" brush and the generous size of this brush is especially good for the artist who wishes to work freely and on a bigger scale. The ample head size (2 "/ 5 cm) and the soft supple goat hair allow you to cover large areas with very little variation in tone (as compared with the firmer horse hair brushes used for details and dramatic tone variations). Dimensions: The 1G is the same size as the regular horse hair Bill Buchman "Zen" Sumi Brush 1 - Fine - Japan: Total Length: 9 ½ "/24 cm; Shaft: 7 ½ "/19 cm; Head: 2 "/ 5 cm; Head Diameter: 3/8"/1 cm. This brush may be used with all free flowing water media: watercolors, gouache, liquid acrylic, acrylic gouache, acrylic and "tech" inks, Sumi and India inks, liquid watercolors, and all other water media. You can see exciting examples of the Sumi brushes in action on the Bill Buchman art instructional videos on DVD (available on Amazon) and in Bill's drawing instruction book, "Expressive Figure Drawing" (also available on Amazon).
