Beethoven: Piano Concerto No.5, Piano Sonata Op.111; Debussy: Images

Praga's second SACD remastering featuring the great pianist Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli focuses on the music of Beethoven. A monumental performance of the Piano Sonata No.31 is followed by a similarly epic reading of the Piano Concerto No.5, accompanied by the Prague Symphony Orchestra led by Vaclav Smetacek. The disc's includes a welcome bonus - encore performances of the four Images for solo piano by Claude Debussy.
