“Why has nobody hit you with a shovel, yet?”

Similar sentiments are held by many people on meeting Travis and Dave for the first time.

Not that they care.

Cocooned within their private bubble, witty banter over serious conversation is always the order of the day, no matter whom they may inadvertently offend.

And they offend everybody.

But now in his late twenties, ladies’ man Dave is looking for something more from life– namely a relationship with someone who isn’t a hairy-arsed bloke.

Travis too is looking for someone, but his constant joking masks a crippling shyness, where he is unable to even speak to women without taking on the persona of a stand-up comedian; although he usually leaves a lasting impression.

They think he’s an idiot.

Everything changes on a drunken day trip to the seaside where they are witness to the murder of a beautiful woman.
The next morning, after being arrested for breaking and entering whilst wearing gorilla suits (and who knew that would be illegal), Travis and Dave explain what they saw. However, with no body and the killer having a cast-iron alibi, could it be as the police suggest: a bad case of Beer Goggles?

Unwilling to accept the official view, they leave the safety of their bubble in order to find the truth; but the more they dig, the more of a murky underworld they discover and where being hit with a shovel is the least of their worries.

There are some things in life you can’t laugh at...

...but Travis and Dave will try their best.
