Beech Tree

Although it sounds like this tree might be found near sand and water, it grows in forests throughout America. Beech trees are deciduous with gray bark. It holds dark green leaves which have tiny teeth. Seasonally, the Beech tree produces nuts in pairs. The nuts feed forest animals such as raccoons, foxes, deer, rabbits, squirrels, and even bears. These trees grow well in the shade and are known for their strong wood. For this reason, it is harvested and used for flooring and furniture.
