To Start Scaling: Grasp head of fish as in picture. Place front edge of scaler (by jabbing) under scales ½" to ¾" above junction of tail. Push scaler towards head of fish with a side to side motion (wiggle).

Tooth or Serated sides are used to scale bellies of small fish and heads of large fish. Also to scale small soft scale fish that have dried out. First soak fish well and use in a circular manner. Cleans blood out along back bone after gutting fish.

A must for scaling the following fish:

Salt water - Sheephead, Red Snappers, Red Fish (Red Drum), Tourtag (Black Fish), Snook, Drum, Croakers, Striped Bass, Spots, Grunts, Mullett, Grouper, Spotted Wearkfish (Trout), Flounders, Fluke, etc.
