Jacket signed (and inscribed by one): "Hi John/Adam West", "Burt Ward/'Robin'", "Meow!/Sincerely/Lee Meriwether/[She has drawn a whiskered cat's face.]", "John Astin/?/'Riddler" and "Frank Gorshin". Dark brown, hooded rain jacket with Batman logos on left front and on back, and with yellow and black Batman symbols on lining. Signed by all in silver felt tip on back of jacket. In 1965, ADAM WEST, who began acting in 1959, was cast as millionaire Bruce Wayne, AKA "The Caped Crusader", in TV's smash hit Batman. Although he vowed to distance himself from the role after the series was cancelled in 1968, West lent his vocal talents to the animated series The New Adventures of Batman (1977) and Batman: The New Adventures (1992). BURT WARD, who portrayed Wayne's teen-aged ward, Dick Grayson/Robin, in the TV series, reunited with West in the 2003 made-for-TV movie, Return to the Batcave: The Misadventures of Adam and Burt. A former Miss America (1955), LEE MERIWETHER was one of three women to portray Catwoman on the TV show and the one who filled the role in the 1966 Batman movie. However, her greatest success has been on television. She is best known for playing Buddy Ebsen's daughter in law in the long-running Barnaby Jones series (1975-1982). Actor/director JOHN ASTIN, who along with Gorshin appeared in episodes as The Riddler, was nominated for a 1968 Academy Award for Best Live Action Short (Prelude). Astin, is best known for his role as family patriarch Gomez Addams on The Addams Family (1964-1966). FRANK GORSHIN (1933-2005), an impressionist, comedian and character actor, debuted in films in 1956.
