The location you choose should also be near a power outlet. 2. Install the backup battery in your device. 3. Connect your device to a power outlet with the power cord. 4. Check the wireless signal by raising the antenna to an upright position. For best results, the signal strength indicator should appear green. 5. Unplug your home phone from its wall jack. 6.
