At Large
The fourth Kingston Trio album to be released by Capitol, At Large was their first stereo recording and topped the US charts in July 1959, going on to remain there for 15 weeks. Fueled by the success of At Large, the Kingston Trio were able to dominate the charts like no other artist before - at one point they held no fewer than four places of the Top Ten of the album chart and were reckoned to have accounted for 15% of their label's total revenue during the year (and Capitol at the time had Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole on their books, making this a significant achievement). At Large would go on to win the Grammy Award for Best Ethnic or Traditional Folk Recording as well as earning the group a gold record.
