Anti-Skating Control LP
The spinning of the record naturally puts a centripetal force on the stylus, causing the tonearm to want to fly to the inside of the record. This force can cause an imbalance in signal strength between the right and left channels, as well as make groove-skipping more likely. Thus properly adjusted anti-skating mechanism will not only improve sound quality but also decrease wear of the vinyl and the stylus.
