AmScope PS100B Prepared Microscope Slide Set for Basic Biological Science Education, 100 Slides, Set B, Includes Fitted Wooden Case
The AmScope PS100B microscope slide set includes 100 prepared biology slides with a variety of specimens including plants, insects, and animal tissues, and is used in basic biology education. The samples are preserved in cedar wood oil and sealed with a coverslip to preserve specimens and prevent contamination. Labeling on each slide identifies specimens. Slides are composed of optical glass for clear viewing and are 3 x 1 x 0.4 inches/75 x 25 x 1mm (H x W x D, where H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.) The set comes in a fitted wooden case to prevent breakage and ease handling.
Set B slide specimens include bacillus (smear), butterfly wing scales (whole mount), chlamydomonas (whole mount), coccus (smear), coprinus mushroom set (cross section), Cucurbita stem (longitudinal section), daphnia (whole mount), dog cardiac muscle (longitudinal section), dog duodenum (cross section), dog esophagus (cross section), dog ileum (cross section), dog jejunum (cross section), dog pancreas (section), dog rectum (cross section), dog skeletal muscle (longitudinal section) and (cross section), dog small intestine (section), dog smooth muscle (longitudinal section) and (cross section), dog spleen (section), dog squamous epithelium (whole mount), dog stomach (section), dog taste buds (section), dog trachea (cross section), dog ureter (cross section), dragonfly compound eye (whole mount), dragonfly wings (whole mount), earthworm (cross section), euglena (whole mount), feather (whole mount), fern prothallia (whole mount), fern prothallia and sporangia (whole mount), fern, leaf-sorus (whole mount), fish blood (smear), , fish scales (whole mount), frog blood (smear), frog epidermis cell (section), honeybee compound eye (whole mount), honeybee wings (whole mount), honeybee worker leg-composite (whole mount), house bee mouth parts (whole mount), housefly compound eye (whole mount), housefly mouth parts (whole mount), human blood (smear), human cell mucous membrane (smear), human hair (whole mount), human skin sweat gland (section), human spermatozoa (smear), hydra (cross section), Hydrilla verticillata leaf (whole mount), ipomoea leaf (cross section), ipomoea root (whole mount), Lilium anther (cross section), Lilium ovary (cross section), Marchantia mature saprophyte (longitudinal section), meiosis-lillitrm pollen (u.m.), mitosis - onion root tip (longitudinal section), mixed bacteria (smear), mosquito larva (whole mount), mosquito mouth parts (whole mount), mosquito wings (whole mount), onion epidermis (whole mount), paramecium (whole mount), penicillium (whole mount), pig gall bladder (section), pig motor nerve (whole mount), pine leaf (cross section), pine root (cross section), pine stem (cross section), pine young staminate, cone (longitudinal section), poa leaf (cross section), pollen germ (whole mount), pome sclereid (whole mount), pumpkin stem (cross section), rabbit arteriole (cross section), rabbit artery and vein (cross section), rabbit hyaline cartilage (section), rabbit lymph node (section), rabbit spinal cord (cross section), rabbit testis (section), rhizopus (whole mount), rhoeo discolor leaf (whole mount), rice stem (cross section), root-meristem (longitudinal section), spirillum (smear), spirogyra conjugation (whole mount), stem sclerenchyma (cross section), stem-collenchyma (cross section), stem-parenchyma (cross section), stem-tracheid (longitudinal section), stomata-vicia faba leaf (whole mount), sunflower stem (cross section), terminal bud stem (longitudinal section), Tilia stem (cross section), tomato flesh (whole mount), volvox (whole mount), yeast-budding (whole mount), Zea root (cross section), Zea root, tip (longitudinal section), Zea seed (longitudinal section), Zea stem (cross section), Zea stem (longitudinal section).
Microscopes are instruments used to enhance the resolution of an object or image. Types include compound, stereo, or digital. Compound microscopes use a compound optical system with an objective lens and an eyepiece. Stereo microscopes show object depth in a three-dimensional image. Digital microscopes are used to display an image on a monitor, rather than looking through a lens. Microscopes can have monocular (one), binocular (two), or trinocular (three) eyepieces, with varying magnification abilities. Magnification ability refers to the size of an image. Resolution, also known as resolvant power, refers to the clarity of the image. The interaction between field of view (FOV), numerical aperture (NA), and working distance (WD) determines resolution. Microscopes can control magnification through a fixed focus, or through a range of adjustments. They can also utilize LED, fluorescent, and mirror light sources to help control viewing capabilities. Microscopes are widely used in education, lab research, biology, metallurgy, engineering, chemistry, manufacturing, and in the medical, forensic science, and veterinary industries.
United Scope manufactures microscopy equipment and accessories under the brand name AmScope. The company, founded in 1996, is headquartered in Irvine, CA.
